BIO

Maíra Baldaia is a singer, songwriter and actress from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Considered one of the representatives of the good and new harvest of brazilian songwriters. It brings, especially in the letters, the ancestry that carries and its vision of contemporary woman. In the concerts of Maíra Baldaia there is a repertoire with songs composed by the artist and by songwriters of the MPB (brazilian music). With a base band formed only by women musicians, Maíra Baldaia has performed in important events as Festival MIMO, Festival Luzes da Liberdade, Festival Sarará, Festival Sensacional, Festival Ziriguidum, Festival da ACERT (Tondela/ Portugal), Festival Agitágueda (Águeda/ PT), Romaria Cultural (Gouveia/ PT), Samba Fest (Hartford, Connecticut/ USA), FIT BH, Festival Samba Syndrom (Berlim/ Alemanha), Festival Chacoalha, Festival IMUNE (SESC Palladium/ MG e Aparelha Luzia/ SP), Festival de Inverno de Itabira (MG), Festival Encontro de Culturas (Serpa/ PT), SONORA – Festival Internacional de Compositoras (Lisboa/ PT e Belo Horizonte/ BR), among others. The artist has participated in programs such as Sofar Sounds Lisbon (web), Showlivre (web), Cantoras do Brasil 2018 (Canal Brasil/ Globo Sat), Globo Horizonte (TV Globo Minas), Elefante Sessions (web), A Hora do Improviso, Coletânea, Agenda, Brasil das Gerais (Rede Minas), Amora Sessions (web), among others. Majored in music (Bituca – Universidade de Música Popular) and in theater (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais), Maíra Baldaia presents versatility and identity on stage and brings to the interpretation of the songs her experience in music and theater.
